Below are our women only rides. Sometimes we run family rides and other special events. You can find out all about them on this page.


We have bikes available to borrow on some of our rides, see the details below for more information, or if you're unsure, get in touch.


If you're a new rider with us, you should take a look at our ride guide and our list of what you need to bring. We are currently running two booking systems. You can find our more about booking here.


We're a friendly bunch and we welcome riders new and old on our social rides.

  • 29th August, 13:00-14:30 - Beginners ride Burgess Park (Southwark)

    Every Friday we go from a ride from Burgess Park. We have no fixed route for this ride and we will work to our skills as a group. It is a good opportunity to get out and to practice riding.   • 30th August, 10:30-13:30 - Beginners ride Westminster-Regents Park

    We're going to be riding from Westminster Wheels bike shop to Regents Park. Please arrive early if you need to borrow a bike.


    It is a good opportunity to get out and to practice riding. We will ride at an easy pace and we expect to cover 6-10km - we go through parks and quiet roads.


    Riders don't need to be perfect, but do need to be able to control the bike, stop, start and slow down.


    Start/End point: Westminster Wheels, Church Street NW8 8ES

    Every Tuesday we ride from Leyton Jubilee Park. This week, we will be riding to Kingsland Basin.


    Our Intermeidate rides are up to 25km. Mixed routes with some hills; mostly quiet roads with some busier roads and junctions, but with a mix of cycle path, tow path and park sections. Suitable for all riders who can manage the distance and a few small hills/inclines.

    We're going to be riding from Ealing Council Offices to Paradise Fields Beavers Project


     It is a good opportunity to get out and to practice riding. We will ride at an easy pace and we expect to cover 6-10km - we go through parks and quiet roads.

Upcoming Manchester rides

Our Manchester rides are very popular and 'sell out' very quickly. Click the booking link of any of the rides below and 'follow' the eventbrite page to be notified of new rides as soon as they're made available.

  • 27th August, 17:45-20:00 - Sale Water Park-The Buck Inn, Ashton-on-Mersey

    Tree Tops Cafe façade

    We'll set off from Tree Tops Cafe in Sale Water Park & cycle along the Chorlton Ees to Hawthorn Rd where we'll get onto the canal.


    We'll cycle down to Walton Park & then use the quiet back lanes to Ashton on Mersey where we'll stop for a chin wag & some refreshments at The Buck Inn.


    From here we'll cycle along Urmston/Stretford Meadows & around Sale Water Park, back to Tree Tops. Sunset is at 20.10 so please bring lights especially if cycling home from the ride.


    Ride: Intermediate

    Length: 10 miles return

    Average speed: 7-8mph

    Cyclist: Confident on quieter roads

    All our rides do have a leader & backstop, so nobody gets left behind.

  • 29th August, 10:00-13:30 - Intermediate+ ride Abney Park-Poynton

    Come join us for a Friday ride to Poynton Tea Rooms. We'll be cycling from Abney Park and using cycle tracks, roads and the A555 cycle path en route with plenty of variety en route.


    An Intermediate PLUS ride of 20 miles

    Average speed 10mph

    Cyclist: Confident riders on roads and tracks

  • 5th September, 10:00-12:00 -Beginners ride Longford Park

    A confidence building bike ride which is a gentle sociable pootle around Longford Park and some quiet side roads.


    This ride is for you if you haven't ridden for a while or have recently learnt to ride and need more practice.


    We can help you gain cycling confidence in a safe environment. Bring your own bike or we can lend you one of our bikes if you don't have access to one.


    Meet at the car park next to the athletics track at Longford Park (which is just off Ryebank Road) and car parking is free. The ride begins at 10am.


    Bike Loan: If you’re able to cycle but don’t have a bike we are offering free bike hire included in the booking. We're very grateful for funding for this provided by Transport for Greater Manchester. Please arrive at 9.45am if you are borrowing a bike.


    Start/End point: Athletics track at Longford Park (just off Ryebank Road) - parking is free.

  • 6th September, 09:30-16:00 -Advanced ride Day out in Lancashire

    Join us for a day out across the border into Lancashire. Meeting at Worden Park in Leyland, we'll set off along the quiet roads & cycle paths to Cuerden Valley Way. We shall follow this route up to Preston & the Guild Wheel. Two pit stops are planned along the route, as well as frequent water breaks. This is mostly shared pathways, trails & cycleways however due to the distance it is an "Advanced" ride.


    Please note: There are 3 steep inclines of 20%, 15% & 10% amongst other undulations. The 20% you will have to walk your bike up due to the terrain. Please consider this if you're coming on a heavier e-bike. We can take the other hills at our own pace. Not suitable for skinny tyres.


    We shall be setting off promptly at 09:30. Please arrive with enough time to remove your bike from the car. There are toilets at the park but they are some distance from the car park (currently the car park toilets are closed). The nearest train station is Buckshaw Village.


    Please note: This is classed as an Advanced ride with some roads & hills involved.


    Advanced Ride

    Distance 39 miles return

    Total Elevation: 1075ft

    Average speed 9-10mph

    Cyclist: Confident on a bike, main roads & able to keep pace within a group.

    All our rides have a leader & backstop and so nobody gets left behind.

  • 6th September, 10:00-13:00 -Beginners+ ride Chorlton Park-Station South

    JoyRiders Manchester women's Beginners+ ride from Chorlton Park, Carpark off Nell Lane to Station South Cycle Cafe, Levenshulme


    Join us for an 8 mile ride to Station South Cycle Cafe, Levenshulme. Suitable for those comfortable on cycle paths and quiet roads. Speed is a relaxed pace at 6-7 mph that is ridden at the pace of the slowest rider. We'll be cycling along the Fallowfield Loop (Floop).


    Please be on time as we are not able to wait for latecomers.


    Beginners Plus ride of 8 miles returning to the start.

    Relaxed pace, moderate at 6-7 mph that suits the slowest rider.

    Mostly off road and relatively flat riding tracks with up and down sections.

    Suitable for all bike types including road bikes, the terrain has tarmac paths.

    Cyclist: Riders who are happy on tracks, shared Cycle paths and quiet roads.

    Riders should be dressed in comfortable clothing suitable for the day's weather.

    Bring a lock to secure your bike.

    Purchase or bring a hot drink and snack. Card and cash accepted.

    Arrive by 09:55 for introductions, overview of ride and bike checks. We will leave at 10:00

    All our rides have trained leader and a backstop, are relaxed and we never leave anyone behind. No Lycra needed!


    Please check your bike the night before the ride and on the day that the tyres are correctly inflated and that the brakes work. Allow yourself plenty of time to find parking and remove and ready your bike, if coming by car.


    If for any reason you're no longer able to attend, we kindly ask that you cancel your free ticket a few days before. The rides are popular and extremely limited and we can offer your place to another rider.

  • 7th September, 11:00-14:00 - Intermediate ride Longford Park-Ordsall Hall

    A flat, Intermediate, women’s ride suitable for those confident on tracks and roads.


    An Intermediate ride of 12 miles

    Average speed 8-10 mph

    Cyclist: Confident riders on tracks and roads

    All our rides have a leader and a backstop, are relaxed and we never leave anyone behind. No lycra needed!


    The route starts at Longford Park and goes along quiet roads through Old Trafford to Salford Quays - our destination for a pit stop is the stunning Ordsall Hall. We will then return along the Manchester Ship and Bridgewater canals. It's all on flat paths and roads and is about 10 miles (16km) in total.


    All our rides have a leader and a backstop, are relaxed and we never leave anyone behind.


    Meet at 11:00 am at the Longford Park cafe (near the Cromwell Rd entrance - the cafe is next to the Pets Corner and children's play area) - and aim to return by 14:00.


    Please be on time as we are not able to wait for latecomers.


    If you can't come please cancel your booking via Eventbrite so we can offer the place to someone on our waiting list as places are very limited at the moment.
